Pondscapes, located at 4213 S. Manhattan Ave. in Tampa, holds two pond and water garden tours a year. The Spring Pond and Water Garden Tour in May and the Nighttime Pond Tour in January.
The self guided tours, benefiting the LifePath Hospice of Tampa in and the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, feature a number of professionally and self-installed ponds and gardens in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. In addition to the water features, participants also have the opportunity to see imported Japanese koi, goldfish and many aquatic plant specimens. Homeowners are on hand to answer questions regarding their ponds and gardens.
The Spring Pond Tour is Saturday, April 26th from 10 AM to 4 PM. There are 15 ponds on this year's tour. Maps of the self guided tour are available at Pondscapes' location on S. Manhattan Ave.
Participants of the tour are requested to make a donation when picking up tour information. Total proceeds from the past tours have netted over $30,000 for local charities.
